October 14, 2010 by sharky

We thought it be obligatory to pass along exclusive information: New BitTorrent is officially a ghost town. It’s painfully clear that private BitTorrent has hit its crescendo and is bottoming out - what’s scarier is new trackers can’t even find cool domain names to use these days. Despite the impending death of BitTorrent, a few new trackers still try to beat the odds. Here would be October’s answer to what’s new. Look if you dare.

August 15, 2010 by sharky

To continue on with the list of new trackers for August (part deux), here are a few others that made an entry. For the most part there’s no rhyme or reason to these; it’s a bit of a mixed bag of new sites that were simply not included in the last list. As promised we’ve included tracker updates from our July Edition; some have failed miserably while others have prospered. Enjoy the read!

New Private Trackers: August 2010 Edition (Part I)

August 11, 2010 by sharky

Being that there are just too many new trackers to report about in this August 2010 Edition, we’ve been forced to break it down into two separate articles. Here we present 12 new sites; most of which are considered general and/or content-specific trackers. Ratings for these are more than fair, although we’ve yet to cover some of the newer niche sites that have recently launched. We’ll dig deeper into this in Part II, and we’ll include a bonus: realtime updated stats from trackers which were included in the previous July Edition.

20 New Private Trackers: July 2010 Edition

July 06, 2010 by sharky

These monthly editions of ‘new tracker’ articles take a considerable amount of effort to write, let alone research. Not that FSF has a problem with that. From a writing perspective it’s generally more enjoyable to expose new trackers that are movers & shakers; sites that are going places. Naturally not all months are the same - June 2010 is mostly a forgettable month. Having said that, we’re pleased to report a handful of new BT startups that are golden - and well, we slam the rest.

We’ve discovered two new speedy ’scene/0sec’ trackers (MAT & DarkAlliance), as well as some excellent ‘niche’ sites (karaoke music; comic books; games) and even a couple of new adult trackers.

Ahh, Autumn - days are getting shorter, leaves are changing colour, and new torrent trackers are starting to sprout up around every corner of the interwebs. It’s time to recollect our latest findings, in which we review 20 new private trackers (amazingly, none of which are adult). Once again, we’ve cranked up our honesty (and sarcasm) - there’s plenty of new torrent sites to write about in this October edition.

13 New Private Trackers: September 2009 Edition

September 03, 2009 by sharky

Traditionally, July and August usually aren’t the busiest months for new private trackers to make a début on the torrent scene. Tracker devs located above the equator probably have better things to do than sit inside feverishly working on code during warm days. And who are we to blame them? With Summer winding down, there’s still an impressive list of new private trackers to report about …or is there? For this article, we’ve put a new spin on the format to provide our own insight on these new trackers.

28 New Private Torrent Trackers: August 2009 Edition

August 06, 2009 by sharky

You gotta love private trackers. The growth of new sites shows no trend in slowing down anytime soon, confirming that BitTorrent is the most widely-accepted and successful P2P protocol of all time. Here are some new startups that are currently open for registration, including 4 new adult trackers and 3 sports trackers. Some are gems, and some are duds - you be the judge.

Adult Trackers:

http://www.velvet-touch.me

Velvet-Touch.me is a new adult tracker that started up in the beginning of July 2009. The site design is great; content is well-organized and easy to browse; and there’s even IRC-idle bonus - the only thing missing are some uploaders (there’s only 70 active torrents). Could be a real contender if only there was more content. TBDev FTW for adult trackers.
