20 Reasons Why You Got Banned From a ‘Torrent Forum’

April 29, 2009 by sharky

It’s not rocket science to figure out how to get your ass banned from any discussion board. It’s fairly simple, really. Simply badmouth a moderator or other members, or break some silly in-house rule or act like a jerkoff nub - basically anything that goes against better judgment falls into this category. However, torrent forums are a less-forgiving group and have their own ruleset for what’s deemed acceptable behavior and what’s considered repugnant; guidelines which extend far beyond regular forum douchebaggery. Pay special heed to these no-no’s in our Top 20 picks for why you can’t login to your favorite torrent board anymore.

SceneDDL: Automated Scene Releases to Filehost DDLs

April 26, 2009 by sharky

There’s not a site on the Internet that can claim what SceneDDL.net accomplishes. Not a single one. No, they don’t index DDL (direct download links) like thousands of faceless sites. They create them. No, they’re not a "release blog" that waits for affiliate comments to post or upload valid working links to RS, MU. When it comes to pretimes, SceneDDL beats out blogs and even competes with the some of best ’scene’ torrent trackers. SceneDDL uses a unique autoposter feature: to oversimplify this process, they take scene releases from topsite sources (not from trackers) and index these releases on the site while uploading the files to multiple file hosters at the same time. What’s remarkable is that the entire process is completely automated; the end result is the fastest turnaround time for ‘scene releases to direct download links’ found on the Internet. From the top of the piracy pyramid to the bottom of it, in literally just minutes.

18 Swedish Trackers Closed - TTI.nu Latest to Jump Ship

April 23, 2009 by sharky

ThePirateBay’s guilty verdict (pending an appeal) has had a tremendous impact on Sweden’s trackers - both public & private. Once thought to be one of the safest havens for private trackers among first-world countries, Swedish tracker owners have recently done an about-face. www.TTi.nu (The Internationals) - one of the largest and most popular of the bunch, announced that they’re removing all illegal torrents and going legit - which, in the tracker world is the same thing as closing down. SceneHD.org will follow suit on April 28th by removing the tracker - so the question remains: where’s the Hydra?

Below is an actual copy of the letter (translated into English) that most Swedish trackers received from anti-piracy group antipiratbyran.se; this one in particular was sent to Swedish tracker SwePiracy.nu, which promptly encouraged them to take down the tracker:

Uploading Your Files and Making Torrents in TorrentFlux

April 22, 2009 by sharky

This is a complete guide for uploading your files and making torrents in a TorrentFlux-b4rt seedbox to seed on private trackers. Here we’ll explain how to transfer files/folders to your seedbox through FTP or SFTP, as well as create torrents from within the TorrentFlux interface using the built-in "Make Torrent" feature. We’ll also illustrate how you can edit your existing seeding torrents, and change them over to new private tracker announce URLs for seeding.

How To Maximize TorrentFlux Download Speeds Using FlashGet And FlashGot

April 19, 2009 by sharky

If you’re a TorrentFlux seedbox user, you probably already know there aren’t too many options for downloading your completed torrent files back to a home PC through a browser. Natively in TFlux, files need to be downloaded one-by-one with the option to download full folders - also done one at a time. However, if your seedbox host offers lower-than-average transfer speeds (most do), then the workaround is to download multiple files simultaneously to maximize bandwidth. When used in unison, both FlashGet and FlashGot are very TorrentFlux-friendly; entire directory contents can be scanned & imported (and downloaded) without all the excess junk - as long as the FlashGot filter is applied correctly.

The 25 Best DDL Search Engines For RapidShare Links

April 16, 2009 by sharky

Hands down, warez forums & scene/P2P release blogs provide the best source for valid, accurate working direct download links from file hosting services such as RapidShare, MegaUpload, FileFactory and countless others. Curiously enough, however, the sites that reign as the most popular choice for DDL seekers are ‘1-click hoster’ search engines, many of which eclipse any DDL forum or blog. One clear example is RapidLibrary.com which provides searching for RapidShare links only; and despite this, continues to receive much more traffic than the impossibly popular Warez-bb.org.

The truth is - the general public isn’t exactly well-informed in regards to where to find the real goodies; and search engines are counting on that. Many popular RapidShare engines are nothing more than a modified Google search using specific operators; others are generic web scripts that offer nothing special. In any event, here’s our picks for the Top 25 Direct Download search engines.

Ultimate List of 650 Scene Release Groups - Part I

April 14, 2009 by sharky

Thanks to the dedicated hard work of Faolan Scath and Skylight of SceneReleases.info, we were allowed to steal (er..republish) their compilation of more than 650 scene release groups. Not since AboutTheScene abandoned their efforts to keep an updated list of RGs has anyone taken on such a monstrous task. We tip our hats to both of them and the SR team, as this is a very worthy addition to FSF.

Due to WP limitations we were forced to break this down into two distinct posts. Below are scene groups - past & present - from 0 - M, with N - Z listed here. SceneReleases’ list can be found over here, which they will be continuously updating as needed since this is a work-in-progress.

100 Scene/P2P Blogs for RapidShare Warez DDLs

April 13, 2009 by sharky

The upside to scene/P2P blog-style release sites is that you usually won’t have to register in order to view the links. By their very nature, they’re more enticing to look at than browsing through threads on a generic vbulletin forum. However, the downside to release blogs is that everything is mixed together (movies, apps, games are added on-the-fly) and you’ll need to conduct specific searches or use the site’s categories to narrow things down. But if speed (pretime) is a major factor when looking for DDL/RapidShare links, good release blogs will usually beat out most forums, and dead links will often be edited or replaced with new live links in the comments.

Become A Seedbox Reseller Fast - Here’s How

April 09, 2009 by sharky

Looking to get a seedbox for free? Well, we can’t exactly promise you that - but unique to SeedboxHosting.com is the ability to add new users (create TorrentFlux sub-account slices) to help split up the original cost. All new users created by you will receive their own specific login details, including an FTP account. More importantly, you’ll also be able to set up customized disk quotas for your new users, and limit each one to certain resources on the server. SeedboxHosting’s new Leaseweb Pro dedicated seedbox server comes with a generous 1 TB hard drive & 1 GB memory; making it ideal for multiple users. For example, you could create 4 sub-accounts and give each of them access to 200 GB of storage, and still keep a slice for yourself. Want to limit the number of active torrents for each? You can do that (and should) as well. So, what are you waiting for? Let’s get started!

Reselling Scenarios: Make profit, and keep a seedbox

Obviously before you even begin - you’re going to need to pick up one of their dedicated LeaseWeb Pro seedboxes. The cost is €97 (Euro) a month (that’s about $127 USD). Here are a few scenarios of how it can be resold into slices, perhaps turning a small profit on the side:

  • — 3 users, each pay $50/mo, and receive 300 GB storage. You’ll get a tiny slice of ~30 GB storage for yourself, and profit $23/mo.
  • — 4 users, each pay $30/mo, and receive 200 GB storage. You’ll be left with ~130 GB for yourself.
  • — 5 users, each pay $25/mo, and receive 150 GB storage. You’ll get ~180 GB for yourself (but only break even).
  • — 6 users, each pay $25/mo, and receive 140 GB storage. You’ll get a ~90 GB slice, and make ~$23/mo. profit.
