20 New Private Trackers: June 2010 Edition

June 10, 2010 by sharky

In this June 2010 edition, we’re excited to present some really good fresh trackers (really!) that joined into the madness of the BT scene. We’ve discovered two new speedy ’scene/0sec’ trackers (MAT & DarkAlliance), as well as some excellent ‘niche’ sites (karaoke music; comic books; games) and even a couple of new adult trackers.

Featured Scene Trackers…

www.midnightarab-torrents.org

Midnight Arab Torrents (MAT) officially debuted on May 14th, although they were in developmental stages since March. Don’t be fooled by the name - MAT actually has little to do with "Arabic/Indian" content; instead here’s a tracker that serves up all the popular scene, non-scene and 0day releases. Over 2,500 new active torrents have been added since May 17th (the site now indexes a total of 3,865 torrents). Open registration will end once MAT hits the 5K member mark.

Our prediction — We’re impressed! MAT has an autobot to upload releases to the tracker from sceneaxx, and pretimes are nothing short of amazing. At least 100 new torrents are added on any given day - all of which are seedbox-hosted. MAT is based on a highly customized TBDev 2009 Final Edition codebase and contains some unique features (games, bonus system, betting). All torrents are announced in the shoutbox on the main page; here you’ll be able to tell just how fast (and often) new content arrives:

MAT also has its own complete IRCd services:

  • Server: 188.40.105.150
  • Cmd: /server -m 188.40.105.150
  • Channels: #MidnightArab-Torrents (main channel), #MAT-Games, #MAT-Trivia, #MAT-Blackjack, #MAT-Support
  • Special Channels: #MAT-Pre, #MAT-Trace — Pre for MAT’s announced releases; and tracers (torrent races) of other tracker’s pretimes comparatively. Both are open to all MAT members.

http://darkalliance.co.uk

The DarkAlliance could easily be called Dark Horse since it’s a tracker that very few torrenters have even heard about, yet possesses some decent sceneaxx and a ton of fresh torrents. In truth DarkAlliance is an improved version of their old site Fatal-Attraction.in which began back in mid-November 2009.

Our prediction — Online since 2010-05-27, DarkAlliance already indexes 1,530 active torrents (many of which are double-seedbox hosted). Pretimes are not yet announced for each torrent (although there’s room for this), but on any typical day some 200 new torrents are added to the tracker (both spam and non-spam scene releases).

General Trackers…

http://torrentspot.org

TorrentSpot lists just 25 torrents since opening on 2010-05-17. Sounds bad? It is. But worse yet, there are just 32 total seeds among those torrents. Torrentspot - even with a catchy domain name - is assuredly not the place to ’spot’ many torrents. At least not yet.

Our prediction — Despite a solid design and a visually appealing TBDev layout, this one badly needs a seedbox to host torrents on (sorry, but 3KB/s DL rate on 1-seed torrents from .ro IPs won’t win TorrentSpot many friends). Perhaps we reviewed this one a little too soon; there’s always time for them to turn things around.

http://sharptorrents.com

SharpTorrents opened to the public on 2010-05-08 (one month ago) and indexes 2,070 active torrents with 1,035 members. This tracker has a slick, easy-to-browse design and decent pretimes. All new accounts come with 3GB upload credit.

Our prediction — One of the biggest problems for new "general" trackers is the lack of ability to hold onto active members. Even if a tracker is above-average, the competition is simply too fierce. Although SharpTorrents has 2K+ torrents, there are only 15 total leechers among all of them - a statistic which suggests that only a tiny fraction of their 1,035 member-base are actually visiting & using the tracker. Only time will tell if this one will rise to the occasion.

http://bitsarena.net

  • — Category: General (RO/EN)     Codebase: TBDev
  • — Signup Link: You’ll find it.

It would appear that BITsArena officially launched on 2010-05-13, but we can’t be sure. Tracker stats aren’t reported, but there are 396 active torrents (using 3 distinct torrent browse pages - main browse, music, and adult). All new signups receive 10GB upload credit.

Our prediction — …and another major issue for new "general" trackers (especially Romanian ones) is the inability to find dedicated uploaders. Often these sites don’t have any form of sceneaxx, nevermind an autobot to link it to the tracker itself. As is the situation with BITsArena, there’s a distinctive lack of consistency to the uploads. Some days there are 6-10 new torrents; others there are 25 or more.

Niche Trackers…

http://karaoke-world.co.uk

Karaoke torrents are eerily difficult to find on private trackers (even W&W don’t have any) - that is, until now. Karaoke-World is a brand new tracker for all things karaoke-related. Officially opened on 2010-05-21, they list 427 torrents and most of the content pertains to 10-CD series and ’sets’ for SunFly, Sound Choice, Easy Karaoke, Zoom and other popular CD+G disc releasers.

Our prediction — Aside from offering an untold amount of karaoke music (the torrent count doesn’t do any justice to how much stuff is really available here), they also provide related software, players & apps to create them. Staff members are well-versed in the karaoke entertainment industry, and it shows.

Updated Stats (August 4th, 2010) :

  • Members: 752

http://www.tbdown.com

  • — Category: Ratio-Free (Mixed)     Codebase: TBDev
  • — Signup Link: Not available at last check.

TBdown is a no-ratio tracker specializing in tutorials, documentaries, games, PDA/mobile, programs, OSes, special releases, and cartoons. Everything is seedbox hosted, and there are more than 1,800 torrents to choose from.

Our prediction — Wow, a broad-content tracker that’s not afraid to stay away from mainstream movies & TV releases. All signs suggest that we just might have a winner here. So far, the only method that we’ve discovered for getting into TBdown is by being a PU at Waffles.fm (at this link).

http://comicbt.com

Online since May, ComicBT (CBT) currently lists 393 active torrents and 760 members. Two things make this site cool: 1) - They’re actively recruiting comic book scanners to supply unique content. 2) - Torrent ‘details’ pages contain comic book cover scans and a detailed description about each release or series. In addition to comics, there are also some movies & music (basically anything related to and/or adapted from a comic book is allowable).

Our prediction — Realistically, one only needs an account at What and/or Waffles to enjoy comic book torrents (they both literally have thousands). If these mega-music trackers are unavailable (unattainable) to you, then ComicBT is your kind of place.

http://pirogames.com

Officially launched to the public a month ago on 05-05-2010, PiroGames runs on a specialized version of TBDev with various "modifications" to enhance the tracker frontend & user-interactivity. Called "TBDev 2009 Final Edition", we’re beginning to see a fair amount of new trackers using this cool sourcecode (there’s 4 in this article alone).

Thus far at PiroGames, there’s 393 active torrents and 447 members. As a games tracker, content is wide-reaching and includes PC-ISOs and console releases (PS1, PS2, XBOX, Wii, handhelds) but there’s also a good selection of Android & iPhone stuff available.

Our prediction — Despite the fact that PiroGames has had almost zero exposure and is still virtually unknown, there’s a fair bit of activity going on here. We particularly enjoy each torrent’s details page; which includes poster art, descriptions and even sometimes game trailers. All new signups receive 25GB upload credit to start with, and all new torrents are seedbox hosted.

XTC

  • — Category: Music (Electronica)     Codebase: Gazelle
  • — Signup Link: Not open directly for registration.

XTC is brand new ratioless tracker based on Gazelle RC2 and specializing in electronic music, music videos, and MDVDRs. It is still in early beta stages, but the site and tracker are up and running pretty smoothly now. A hit and run system is in the works to replace ratio monitoring (seeding rules: seed for 120 hours after completing the download).

At this time, signups to XTC are not open to the public (recruitment can be found through Waffles, here - and at What.CD, here). XTC has an IRC interview channel for those who want to apply for an invite directly:

Adult Trackers…

http://www.hdnow.org

HDNoW is the first (and only) Asian adult-only HD tracker, with a focus on JAV (Japanese Adult Video). On signup, visitors/members are able to select the English language option from the dropdown menu that’s displayed on the right side of the site. HDNoW currently indexes just 83 torrents and 7,226 members. Update: Tracker is presently offline, check back later.

History: Began as HDNew back in late May, and recently settled on HDNow.org. Last week there were 520 active torrents, but it appears as though they ran into a database problem in which many new members were purged. The number of torrents also suffered a drastic setback as they lost an estimated 470 older torrents, but the torrent count is beginning to rebound nicely.

Our Prediction — Thumbs up, if Asian HD pr0n is your cup of tea and if this tracker can stay online. Unquestionably this tracker will (has) become a huge hit in China - HDNoW has already established some incredible peer stats: 7,388 seeders and 5,346 leechers, and that’s on a paltry 83 active torrents. TIP: You’ll need to download something within the first 48 hours of activating the account, or else it’s bye-bye.

http://private-spice.org

Self-claimed as being online since 2010-06-01, Private-Spice is a brand-new adult tracker with 1,681 members and 276 torrents. This one’s Hungarian by nature, but for the most part they index common scene releases, small individual siterips & clips, some hentai, and other stuffs.

Our Prediction — Three things need to be said: 1) There are already some truly amazing Hungarian trackers out there; 2) General Pr0n trackers abound our interwebs, and are regularly open for signups; 3) Most ‘true’ scene trackers already cover much of the same content — So, what makes Private-Spice special? Nothing much that we could see.

http://pornhive.org

Nearly everything at PornHive is ’scene’ although it’s not all non-spam scene. There’s a mix of XXX-XviD (you know, those 2CD/3CD retail DVDR rips), as well as XXX-0Day (various webrip clips in WMV container, usually between 100-600 MB in size). Online since 2010-05-27, PornHive lists 341 active torrents and 592 members.

Our Prediction — Surely there are better adult trackers out there but if you fancy scene stuff, PornHive’s turning out to be quite respectable. Plus, everything is freeleech for the next two months.

Foreign Trackers…

http://pinoytorrents.net

PinoyTorrents is a newer Filipino tracker (that began in Feb. 2010) with 1,953 torrents and 2,672 members. Content is unique, to say the least - here you’ll find literature & magazine scans (FHM, Maxim, Playboy, RED, etc - in authentic Filipino release format); music (audio, karaoke & musicvids); movies (adult & Pinoy specific releases); TV (ABS CBN, PBA, GMA…). All torrents are freeleech until October 18th, 2010.

Our prediction — PinoyTorrents is not a nation-specific tracker that indexes common scene releases or English content - if you’re not Filipino then nothing here will interest you whatsoever. We give it a ‘thumbs up’ since we haven’t even heard of another Filipino tracker in existence, plus the fact that they put up some impressive stats, peering & traffic numbers.

http://easybits.org

EasyBits so happens to be a reincarnation of the old DanishTorrents.org tracker. Online for about 3 weeks now, EasyBits lists 283 active torrents. Lots of stuff here for Danish and Nordic users, including movies (mostly DVDR & XviD) that contain custom subtitles (DKsubs, nordic subs).

Our prediction — EasyBits should do well in Denmark and beyond, but there’s not much here for the English crowd (that can’t be found just about anywhere else). Then again, EasyBits is not trying to appeal at an international level. TIP: Read the Rules before signing up.

http://www.pr1v3.net

  • — Category: General (Italian)     Codebase: XBTiT
  • — Signup Link: here

Priv3.net is a new Italian tracker that launched (or re-launched) on 2010-05-29. Lists 420 members and 110 torrents.

Our prediction — English torrenters might want to avoid this one; most everything at Priv3 pertains to Italian torrent releases (movies - HD, DVDR & XviD) and TV shows.

Other Trackers…

http://psybrazil.net — A new tracker with Brazilian? music. 109 members and just 29 torrents since May 13th.

http://www.diamondsrooms.com — The new locale for Passion-Musique, a French music tracker. Signups are open on the 1st, 15th & 30th of each month.

http://www.media-sharing.com — 107 members & 105 torrents (all are external/public trackers?)

http://www.bittoxic.com — We reviewed this tracker in the past back when they indexed public torrents. The tracker is now entirely internal (private) only.
