30 New Private Trackers: February 2010 Edition

February 11, 2010 by sharky

2010 is barely six weeks old and there’s already a ton of tracker activity on the BitTorrent scene. Here’s our latest assortment of new trackers, most of which have surfaced just this year. Some of these are great; some are so-so; and of course, some you’ll just want to downright avoid altogether.

Trackers With Potential:

www.torrent-script.org

Torrent-Script opened just a few days ago and indexes 125 active torrents. It’s a niche tracker with a focus on scripts & templates - including Wordpress themes, Template Monster, torrent search scripts, clone (nulled) scripts, etc.

Our prediction — Cool tracker unlike any other - we see some real potential here. Torrent-Script gets a thumbs-up just on originality alone - Web developers should certainly check this one out. Bookmarked!

http://smokeit.ro

SmokeIT.ro (formerly on a different domain name?) launched back in November and is showing some life - already has 4,390 members and indexes 1,315 active torrents. Everything is currently set to freeleech.

Our prediction — SmokeIT is extremely pleasant to look at, but is there really any room on the ‘net for another general Romanian/English tracker? Only time will tell.

http://www.areafile.com

AreaFile.com - a general-0day Romanian/English tracker that lists 7,800 members and 572 active torrents (oldest torrent on site is from 2010-01-22). Content is wide-ranging from XXX to DVDRs/XviD to appz & music.

Our prediction — Easy to navigate, above-average number of peers on many of the torrents, lots of uploaders & quick download speeds. AreaFile is off to a pretty good start.

http://torrentz-galore.co.uk

Our prediction — Decent start so far - Torrentz-Galore currently indexes 1,290 active torrents & 2,800 members since coming online in November. Everything is currently freeleech.

http://henteles.hu

Henteles is a horror tracker (mostly for films) that’s been around for awhile. The tracker is Hungarian but there’s a good selection of English titles to choose from; many of the "HU XviD" releases are dual-audio, plus there’s a decent selection of multi-language DVDRs. Henteles currently indexes 635 active torrents.

http://loadthedecks.com

Online since January 1st (?), LoadTheDecks is a new music tracker that lists 892 active torrents and 530 members. One thing that stands out is LTD’s exclusive music packs which include a variety of albums of the same genre - these are ’stickied’ on the torrent browse page.

Our prediction — While don’t expect LTD to compete with What.CD, there’s some decent activity with a good amount of new torrents coming in. Everything seems to be seedbox-hosted, as well.

http://torrentzone.net

Less than six weeks old, TorrentZone is a new general tracker with 1,638 members and 500 torrents - most of which pertain to XviD and HD (TV, movies, sports). New members receive 10GB upload credit upon signup.

Our prediction — Pretty good effort so far from TZ - more than 100 new torrents have been added during the past 3 days (mostly ’scene’). TZ also offers an https tracker (although we couldn’t make connections with it, even in popular torrents).

http://www.beyaztorrent.com

Looking for a Turkish tracker? No? Then move along; this one won’t have anything for you.

Our prediction — We don’t know what the standard is for Turkish trackers, but BeyazTorrent only lists 155 active torrents since Dec. 24th ‘09.

http://hardtracker.in.ua

Hardtracker is a Russian/English music tracker that features techno, hardcore, hardstyle, breakbeat, DnB, schranz and other genres that are sure to piss off your parents, roommate etc. Oddly, their homepage reads "This site is under construction" but members can still signup using the above link. Good luck finding a torrent browse page - you’ll need to add /browse.php to the URL.

Our prediction — For a tracker that nobody seems to have heard about, Hardtracker has a loyal following (no idea how many members there are, but there’s 1,100 torrents - many of which are well-seeded).

http://www.bdmkv.org

BDMKV is a Chinese/English tracker for HD movies, lossless music & full Blu-Rays. New members receive a staggering 100GB (that’s right: 100GB) upload credit - which you’ll need, since there’s a fairly large selection of torrents that are larger than this. Signup TIP: When registering, use the dropdown menu on the right side and select English.

Our prediction — We would’ve given BDMKV full marks if they had more content. There’s just 228 torrents (more than half of which are untouched Blu-Rays) - still, there’s an impressive collection of popular movies to be had. Lossless music is mostly in the form of DVD-Audio MLP (Dolby Digital/DTS) as well as some FLAC 24bit torrents.

http://scene4.us

We previously reviewed Scene4us in a prior new trackers article, but then they disappeared for reasons unknown. Well, now they’re back as v2.

Our prediction — It’s tough to review this one. Site design is great, but they definitely need some uploaders (torrent count is 86). Their IRC channel can be found here - and all new members receive 1 invite and 3GB upload credit.

http://torrenttunez.net

Our prediction — Online for about two weeks now, TorrentTunez is a music tracker that’s already indexing an impressive 878 active torrents - and everything is freeleech until the end of February. New music trackers have a long, tough road ahead if they want to become successful - but TTz is off to a healthy beginning.

Other Trackers with Potential

http://tigerblack.net (codebase: TorrentTrader v2) — A French tracker that was previously unlisted at FSF; indexes 1,567 active torrents and 863 members.

http://music-dungeon.com (codebase: TS-SE v6.2) — New music tracker, about two weeks old, indexes 144 active torrents. It’s the sister site of dragons-dungeon.com (both sites are presently open for registration).

http://share.kno.ro (codebase: TBDev) — New anime/hentai tracker that launched in January. Indexes 120 active torrents, many of which are series/seasons. All new members receive 8.38GB upload credit.

http://www.kavatza.net (codebase: TS-SE) — Newer Greek general tracker that lists 1,220 active torrents - lots of activity here. Apparently this one’s ratio-free but we can’t confirm it.

http://3arabroyal.com (codebase: TS-SE 6.3) — Arabic tracker with 969 members and 389 torrents.

http://www.xtremeporn.ro (codebase: TBDev) — The sister site of xtremezone.ro, xtremeporn is currently invite-only, but a registration link can sometimes be found here when open.

Failing Trackers:

http://bzee.tv

Our prediction — BzEe.tv was off to a promising start when they first opened about a month ago, but activity has all but tapered off to a miserable trickle. Indexing 1,900 torrents & 1,600 members may seem impressive until you get a look at the total seeds (466), and active torrents sits in at just 244 (compare this to January 23rd when they had 539 active torrents). On average, just ten new torrents are being added daily; clearly not enough for a tv tracker that wants to be taken seriously. At least they provide a link for members to delete his/her account - http://bzee.tv/account-delete.php - which we did. Last stop; everyone off.

http://0day.ro

Not exactly new, 0day.ro is the new location for BlackZ.ro - lists 1,970 active torrents (although we could only find ~775 that have at least one seeder - the other 1,200 would be considered dead). Don’t you just love it when trackers mix the dead torrents in with the "active" list in order to inflate stats?

Our prediction — Once logged in, you might mistake the name of this tracker to be called "Donate.ro" since it’s impossible not to see the big flashy donation button. BlackZ.ro was never a raging success and we don’t think 0day.ro will be, either.

www.ragingtorrents.net

  • — Category: General     Codebase: TorrentTrader v2

Our prediction — The community at RagingTorrents seems to be alright, but most of the torrents here are public (only ~50 out of 365 torrents are private). The two most recent "site news" updates pertains to donations in both of them; which is not a good sign.

Others

http://locosporeltorrent.net (codebase: TS-SE 6.3) — Spanish (Columbian?) tracker, indexes just 199 torrents on the browse page, many of which are dead. This one is asking for an obscene donation target of $1,500. Lulz, good luck wid dat.

http://www.sceneslayer.com (codebase: TorrentTrader) — Online since early December, lists 284 active torrents (120 of which are tiny apps).

http://www.deemtrack.net (codebase: PHPMyBittorrent) — A Ro/En tracker that indexes 972 torrents. No idea how long this one’s been around since there’s no dates on the torrents, not even in the torrent details page. Non-members can view all torrents before deciding to sign up, which you probably won’t be doing.

http://www.pwnagebay.com (codebase: PHPMyBittorrent) — 10 active torrents.

http://www.007torrentz.com (codebase: TS-SE 6.3) — Public torrents (just look at the ‘peer stats’ on the main page; no need to sign up).

http://dij-entertainments.co.uk (codebase: Torrentstrike) — Had 93 active torrents on 01/22/10 - today now lists just 42, shows a clear indication of which direction this tracker is headed.

http://www.starshare.ro (codebase: BTiT) — We didn’t bother signing up after checking out their Alexa rank.

http://www.latinoxtreme.net (codebase: TS-SE 6.0) — Wow; 500 members & 12 torrents (all of which are dead).

http://www.moj-otok.com (codebase: TS-SE 6.2) — 78 torrents, with just a single seeder among them all. VrbSharezone is another dead duck with similar stats.

http://torrent-planet.ro (codebase: TS-SE 6.3) — Public torrents; avoid.
