The ‘RLSLOG Seven’ Find a New Home

September 01, 2008 by sharky

The recent fiasco that involved Martin, ReeGed and the gang has been (somewhat) resolved. The recent exodus of the seven RLSLOG editors didn’t take long to settle in on a new home. Not only have they set up a great new scene-release blog, coolly named Zerosec, but they’ve managed to sneak out with the original RLSLOG Forums database, as well. Great news for RLSLOG forum fans - users are able to login with their old account info.

As opposed to what many had expected, the RLSLOG 7 did not go over to the competition (ScnSrc.net or SceneReleases.info), but started up their own scene release blog instead. To quote Phara from ZeroSec’s IRC channel when asked about the decision to write for another site, she deadpanned, "My thinking is basically is if you are at the point where you would leave something that you love then you don’t go to another site, but rather create your own". Well put.

On the new blog, ReeGed has but one focus, and that’s to pump out quality release info, "It’s been a long 2 weeks or so since the drama on the “Previous Site” happened, but it’s time to move on. At the end of the day, you the readers want the best service. ZeroSec is here to provide exactly that. We just opened up our doors and have provided you with some articles so that the site does not look completely empty, but it is the service that we will provide from this day on that is going to matter." So far there’s already a ton of new articles, proof that Zerosec means business. I’ve never seen such a happy bunch of guys (and gals) on IRC!
