One thing about IRC: You never know what you’re going to discover. Most private torrenters have already heard about IRC tracer channels (specifically #trace & #tracers), which log and keep track of torrent races among popular trackers competing for the best pretimes. Well now there’s a new IRC network that covers releases from prominent ‘release blogs’ - what could be more original! #brace (Blog Race) is a new project that tracks several release blogs and how fast they post about scene releases. It uses the same engine as #trace, which tracks torrent sites.
The Blog Race project has only been around for about a month now, but it’s already developed quite a buzz amongst the release blog circuit. All the info you need to connect can be found at http://anotherp2p.net.
About #brace
#brace uses RSS feeds that aggregates every 60 seconds to track various release blogs (SceneSource, ZeroSec, SceneReleases, ReleaseLog, PLUBE, OneDDL, IRFree, & CooLXviD). Even if you don’t use #brace to track wins and releases, it’s extremely handy for viewing what’s new across these 8 popular release blogs.

Channels of Interest:
#APN - The main channel for anotherp2p.net.
#brace - The announce channel for new releases.
#brace.search - Users can search for specific releases, sites and overall stats (wins).
#p2pre / #p2pre.search - Tracks known P2P releases in the same way that #trace tracks scene releases. Known groups that are set up: STG, PrisM, BDK, FLAWL3SS, DEViSE, PLUBE, D-Z0N3, PRoDJi, iAPULA, THS and KingBen. The channel is rather "slow" because P2P groups don’t release often.
#pre / #pre.search - ‘pre’ channel and related search. #pre.search commands include !pre !dupe !group and !db
#trace / #trace.search - For torrent sites. Commands listed below work the same way.
#newz - RSS News — Better feeds & more commands coming eventually.
#pre.full - Topic is ‘Full, Unfiltered Pre Chan - still working out the bugs’
#Brace / #Trace Commands:
!site <insert site name> - Displays the corresponding statistics for a chosen site. Example - !site ZeroSec
!race <exact rls name> - Self-explanatory. Shows the stats for a particular release. Example - !race Transporter.3.1080p.Bluray.x264-1920. NOTE: In order for this to work in the #brace channel, you need voice (+v). Voice is not required to use this command in the #brace.search channel (recommended).
!sites - Lists the current ‘wins’ (stats) from all release blogs. The current overall leader (or fastest release blog when compared to actual pretimes) is ZeroSec, followed by RlsLog and ScnSrc.
All-in-all, the Blog Race project at irc.anotherp2p.net is a very unique idea for tracking release blogs & their releases. Up until now, there was no real way of comparing sites, aside from having to visit each one or manually watch multiple RSS feeds. #brace and #brace.search pulls all the data into one convenient location. Bravo!
