TorrentDay - Another Scene-Only Tracker Opens

September 25, 2009 by sharky

Hot on the heels of StoreThe.net is another 0day/scene tracker that’s sure to impress. TorrentDay.com which has been online for less than two weeks, is piling up the content fast; already listing more than 1,400 torrents. This TBDev tracker features scene-only content with applaudable pretimes, and better yet - everything is hosted on seedboxes (we checked). Registration is currently open.

Content / Categories

Scene releases are broken down into 6 distinct categories, but clearly you can see that the majority of content pertains to TV releases and movies:

  • Movies/XviD — 223 torrents.
  • Movies/DVDr — 20 torrents.
  • Games (both PC & PS2) — 35 torrents.
  • TV/Episodes — 1,017 torrents.
  • XXX — 129 torrents, mostly 1CD/2CD XviD rips.

Our Notes:

Oddly, there are no Rules or FAQ links displayed on the site (although they do exist here and here respectively, but these are generic TBDev ones). Forums don’t (yet) exist, nor could we find any clues to an IRC channel. Perhaps all this is due to the tracker being so new.

Download speeds: We tested out a few random 1-seed torrents on a 10 Mbit home connection, and torrents are indeed hosted on a seedbox (a look into the Peers list within uTorrent confirmed it). DL speeds measured a respectable 100-250 KB/s for each, often faster.

Like it or not, TorrentDay overlooks many scene release categories such as music, adult imagesets, and applications - all of which cannot be found. Still, there’s a healthy amount of content to choose from within the given cats - a great all-around effort from the TorrentDay team!
