How often is it that FSF introduces a brand-new tracker to the masses, only to disappoint our readers? Oh, right - it happens more than we’d care to admit (duds like SkullnBones and BSC which started out promising but fizzled fast). Angst aside, that’s what we do best: post new trackers. You win some, you lose some …you get it. But we think you’ll win with this new true 0day tracker StoreThe.net which already boasts 3,000+ 11,500+ torrents, complete with a killer unique request system unseen anywhere else.
UPDATE: Oct. 14th - Registration is now open until membership reaches 10,000.
About StoreThe.net
StoreThe.net is an impressive new scene-only 0day tracker that’s already putting up big torrent numbers. We’ve been told, "100% of what is released on a few topsites is being fed into STN" - and we can’t argue. There’s literally hundreds of new daily additions under every genre of scene release, and there’s even a sitewide freeleech until November 10th.
Registration is currently open to STN at http://storethe.net/signup.php?, but word is they’ll be going invite only at ~1,500 members. Get in while you can - just look at those release times:
IRC
All IRC channels are now private (to STN members only).
- • Network/server: irc.storethe.net. Note: Aside from the #Help channel, all others are not accessible to non-members (require invite).
- • Main Channel: #STN (hotlink here)
- • Torrents are announced in #STN-Announce (hotlink here)
- • Request Channel: #STN-Requests (hotlink here)
- • Pre Channel: #STN-PRE (hotlink here)
- • Help Channel: #STN-Help (hotlink here)
Read more below in reference to the request channels & services.
Multiple Request System
Unheard of from any other tracker, STN currently boasts three different unique request systems through IRC.
1. DDL Requests — Members can request direct download links from file hosters. It works like this: You make a request in IRC here for a file from RapidShare, MegaUpload etc, (and supply the link) and StoreThe.net will download it for you using premium accounts, and turn the release into a torrent on the site. Great for those who don’t possess premium accounts and want to bypass freebie DL restrictions. Currently, STN features 8 of the most popular hosters - the service is automated through their IRC channel but only 20% functional at this time (should be fully operational by the weekend).
2. P2P Requests — This will certainly ruffle some feathers in the BT scene - STN takes requests from other trackers. For example, say there’s a particular torrent pack that you want to download from Waffles.fm (or anywhere else), but can’t afford to blow out your ratio. Simply supply the link to the .torrent file, and STN will download the torrent for you, and post it on their own tracker. (At the very least, you’ll need to have accounts to the trackers in order to be able to supply STN with the proper torrent link). However, there’s another request alternative:
3. Scene Requests — STN takes direct scene requests. Here’s how it works: Simply provide the name of a proper scene release (i.e. "Drag.Me.To.Hell.DVDRip.XviD-iMBT") and request it in their IRC channel here (but do a !search for it first, to see if it already exists). If not, the request will be processed and added as a torrent to the site once available. Handy, even for those who don’t have accounts at any other trackers can still make requests from scene releases indexed through Dupecheck websites. Here’s the pitch as found in the forum:
I’d like to welcome you all to a fantastic new idea that STN offers that NO other BT site has.
Do you want axx to the latest stuff at the click of a button?
Do you want axx to the rare releases that are hard to find at the click of a button?
Do you want to download files from a FAST server rather than waiting for your releases to be uploaded by a "home" connection?
Well now its possible, come and join #StoreThe.NET.Requests for more info.
How This Works:
1: Join the iRCD (hotlink here)
2: Join #StoreThe.Net.Requests
3: Use the following cmd to search for a release
4: !search rlz
(Example: !search Pirates.of.the.XXth.Century.1979.DVDRip.XviD-FiCO)
5: The searchbot will then display the results of the search
<SearchBOT> Searching for: Pirates.of.the.XXth.Century.1979.DVDRip.XviD-FiCO ….
<SearchBOT> Found: /XVID/Pirates.of.the.XXth.Century.1979.DVDRip.XviD-FiCO
<SearchBOT> END OF RESULTS
6: Use the following cmd to request the release
7: !request Pirates.of.the.XXth.Century.1979.DVDRip.XviD-FiCO
<SearchBOT> REQUEST Pirates.of.the.XXth.Century.1979.DVDRip.XviD-FiCO BY Adolf
8: Your request will then be uploaded to the site
Other STN Tidbits
Topsite Access — Offers direct TOPSITE access through FTP for those that don’t want to wait. More info can be found in the forums or IRC.
Great Pretimes — Currently, STN is poised at #5 among all trackers in terms of pretimes, but if trends continue the way they are, expect them to bounce up to #3 soon.
Bonus System — Karma bonus system in place for seed hours, which can be converted into a variety of site extras (invites, upload credit, etc).
Friendly Staff — Very down-to-earth bunch, with front line support crew starting tonight.
Our notes: It’s been a long time since we’ve come across a new tracker that offers direct topsite-to-torrent content, without all those gaping holes in the scene releases. Throw in an unparalleled request system & friendly staff, and you’ve got yourself a winning combination. Simply outstanding!
