Release blogs are fiercely competitive; some excel in quantity, or perhaps a certain specialty - others pride themselves as being a cutting edge provider for the quickest releases. But when it comes to pre-times, how fast are they, anyways? Are some better than others? In a word - Yes. We took a look at popular release blogs and compare them with pre-times from some of the best private trackers. And the results are surprisingly good. For example, RlsLog.net averaged a pre-time of 34 minutes over the last 10 (major) movie releases, when compared to the announce times of three private trackers (SCC, TL and RevoTT). The drawback? Unlike a tracker, you’ll usually need to wait a little longer for an affiliate to post RapidShare or other 1-click hoster links in the comments, in order to actually download it.
ZeroSec
ZeroSec has taken a bit of criticism as of late for slow times on their latest movie releases, yet still achieved some impressive numbers.

*NOTE: Tracker times shown are as reported by each individual tracker, when the torrent was added (as hours and minutes). RevoTT announce times were changed to reflect GMT+0. TL and SCC times are natively displayed as GMT+0.
A note about TL’s announced "torrent added" times (these are as-is). Take this with a grain of salt; rarely will they beat out SCC’s pre times, and TL’s numbers are askew (as reported on the site). For example, TL "clock" is behind ~4 minutes from official GMT, which positively affects their ‘announce’ times.
Conclusion: Announce times for each release were averaged over the three private trackers: ZeroSec averaged a pre-time of 41 minutes for the last ten movie releases (when compared to these 3 private trackers), which is very decent for web-based P2P.
RlsLog.net
Aside from providing the latest releases, RlsLog throws in some Tech News, Games packs, and a ton of other unique scene/P2P stuff that can’t be found on other blogs or even private trackers.

www.scnsrc.net is another popular release blog for all the latest goods, with some great times on new releases.

Conclusion: For these 10 movies, ScnSrc scored a very respectable pre-time of 33 minutes when compared to the three private trackers.
SceneReleases.info
It should first be mentioned that SceneReleases incorrectly labels new article "times" as GMT+0, when in fact they are GMT-1. At first we thought, "Wow, they’re beating out private trackers by almost 30 minutes." Obviously skeptical, we added a comment on a release to gauge when it hit the site; low and behold it was an hour early for GMT. This was taken into consideration and +1 hour was added below. Nonetheless, SR is an avid competitor and put up some great numbers.

Release Blogs vs Official Pre-Times
It’s one thing to compare release blogs to private trackers, but in actuality this doesn’t tell the whole story. Here, we removed trackers from the equation and compared pre times to each blog. Below is a comparison of 20 similar releases found on popular release blogs; the fastest pre-time (winner) is shown in red for each release. From the stats below, it appears that RlsLog and SceneReleases are clearly winning most of the movie races.
