Can’t get into a Private BitTorrent site? Buy your way in!

March 13, 2008 by sharky

OK, we know what we said - never pay for P2P. We’re not getting soft on you - we stand firmly by that credence. But if there was ever just one exception to the rule - it’s this. Looking to get into that oh-so-coveted private BitTorrent site, but you don’t have an invite? Ever tried ‘trading’ private BitTorrent invites only to get ripped off? You’re not alone.

We know the hassles of trying to get into a great BitTorrent website. TrackerChecker never green flags them, btracs.com doesn’t post them, and P2P forums everywhere are loaded with messages from people who want in but don’t post any working invite codes.

Why not skip all the crap and just buy your way in?

Torrent Auction

Recently launched www.torrentauction.com is taking private BitTorrent accounts to the next level. Users can buy, sell and bid on existing private accounts - from as little as $3. To quote Torrent Auction:

Torrent Auction is the first online market place covering all your other torrent needs. It’s your one stop shop for invites, accounts, trackers, domains and more - and it’s totally free!

Buying

Private BitTorrent accounts are listed on the homepage, and include both invites and full accounts from some well-known sites such as FunFile.org, BitSoup.org, what.cd, ScT and torrentleech.org.

Cost-wise, “invites” are typically cheaper, but good VIP accounts can also be purchased for a little extra. Users can add accounts to their “watch-list” to keep track of ‘bids’ on specific accounts. Don’t feel like waiting? - Select the BUY OUT option to get it right away! Torrent Auction accepts either PayPal or MoneyBookers for secure online payments.

Selling

Got some sweet invites that you’d like to part with? Well, you could always find a friend to dump them onto, or try your luck at trading them (good luck!), but why not set up shop in Torrent Auction and do business, instead! This place is like eBay for Torrent sites! Users can create their very-own “store” with lists of accounts/invites for sale. Browse other stores within the community.

Account Trading

While Torrent Auction is not about trading accounts, we would expect that some “sellers” are open to trading, in addition to selling them. This is worth a shot, and far less risky than trading invites in some P2P forum. Contact each seller and see what they say. Word is, they’ll be reciprocative.

Turn it into a mini-business

Why not try to make a good profit out of it? Here’s a few tips:

Start collecting accounts. Visit P2P Forums that offer invites - dig around. Here’s one that should start you off (working registration code included):

http://www.funfile.org - reg. # - b09105e7ed69e138dcd460f45879b6de

(NOTE: funfile.org is for sale there for $10).

Buy “Invites” cheap. Some private BitTorrent sites will “upgrade” your invite account to a full-blown account after a certain amount of time (as long as you’ve been a model citizen). Then you may get your own invites, in which you can sell.

Get accounts at newer, smaller sites that have the potential to be going places. Once registrations close, you’ll be able to sell your existing “invites”, or even your account.

Good luck, have fun - and put those public BitTorrent sites to shame!
