Rachel Faith Anderson, the sysop/admin of Vortex Network, has resigned today after strong allegations in connection with a Pay2Leech scandal and a global "BitTorrent Domination" mindset. Vortex staffers have been jumping ship even before her tended resignation / impeachment, and even What.cd - who supplied the Gazelle codebase and worked closely throughout the developmental stages - has now officially disassociated themselves from any connection to Vortex.
Meanwhile, a brand-new Mac tracker comprised of ex-Vortex staff is using the Gazelle codebase (with What.cd endorsement), making it only the fourth tracker to use What.cd’s much-applauded Gazelle. Introducing SaveTheCoratee.org.
The Vortex roster looks very slim as of late, with just a skeleton crew of a few remaining hangers-on. Staffers who wish to salvage some credibility out of this sinking ship have all but washed their hands of the entire project.
The New New Mac Tracker
Unsurprisingly, ex-staff from Vortex have started up their own Mac tracker called SaveTheCoratee. Look for it here: http://savethecoratee.org.
While not publicly open to new signups, you’ll either have to be invited or apply for membership through their irc channel:
irc://irc.savethecoratee.org - go to channel #invites and be prepared for a short interview. Be sure to have some of your private tracker "profile" links on hand, as well as a speedtest from Speedtest.net.
