Comic Releech - Putting Fun Back Into BitTorrent

May 25, 2009 by sharky

In an Internet already oversaturated with 0day/general trackers that have no character and dead forums, more and more niche trackers with specialized content are breathing some fresh life into BitTorrent. After being in beta mode for months, the time has come to unveil Comic-Relee.ch - a fresh new tracker with a penchant for all-things comedic. Comic-Releech, or CoR, aims to be as much community-driven as it is unique. Find an invite, download some funny stuff and have fun! - today is the grand opening. Welcome to CoR, the land of laughs and fun!

Comic-Releech is serious about funny; content includes comedic films, TV shows, stand-up routines, images, comics, eBooks and anything else humor-related. What you won’t find are dramas, apps or games.

Finding an Invite to Comic-Releech:

Likely CoR won’t be open directly to new signups anytime soon, but invites can be requested through their IRC ‘invites’ channel. Be prepared to answer a short questionnaire, though.

CoR is a real beaut - it’s based on Gazelle with a few twists, such as a bonus system whereby 0.25 points are awarded for every 15 minutes a full torrent is seeding. Points can be traded for upload credit or given away as a gift to other members. (Sure would be nice to see What.cd implement this feature).

Comic-Releech User Classes:

One of the most fun things about a tracker are the various user classes. CoR hasn’t pulled any punches here, and offers a wide category of classes. Better still, there are incentives for climbing up the ranks; including hidden elite forums, tracker recruitment to other sites, and other perks.

Here are some of the available forums (such as "The Circus" and "The Comedy Court"):

Uploading & Rules

Most community trackers allow everyone to have the ability to upload torrents, and Comic-Releech is no exception. Members are not only encouraged to upload their own content - in fact, it’s mandatory to jump up in user-class - but just remember to stick with the comedy motif. Allowable formats include scene, non-scene, unrarred and rarred releases.

Seeding rules: Seed everything to a ratio of 1:1 or for 72 hours, your call. Failure to do so is a H&R.
