ThePirateSociety.org - A New ‘Torrent Invites’ Forum

July 21, 2008 by sharky

We can never have too many ‘Tracker Invite’ forums and BitTorrent discussion boards. Introducing The Pirate Society - a welcome addition to the world of private trackers and P2P hangouts. We interviewed N3v3R, the sysop/admin of TPS, and he wants to make it clear that invite trading is strictly forbidden:

"We are a new bittorrent discussion community that deals with tracker invites. We are a strictly no trade forum meaning that we have the backing of many trackers and have many Community Reps here to help out with specific concerns, including tracker recruitment."

Dedicated Users

TPS has been online less than two weeks, and yet their 330 members have already made over 3,000 posts. There’s a neat feature on the homepage that shows the Top 5 Stats - be sure to check out the "Would you hit it?" thread for some nice fapping material and a good laugh. The sysop "N3v3R" seems to have a sense of humour, as well.

The Arcade

It can get pretty boring while waiting for someone to respond to your ScT invite request (sure, sure!), so why not take The Arcade for a spin? You can even join in on arcade tournaments, or even create your own. Winners of each tournament automatically get an invitation to ScT! (yeah, right - I made that up). Each game is displayed with its own stats, including high scores and your own personal bests.

The Giveaways and other Features

Enough about the arcade, that’s definitely not the site’s selling point. But there are a lot of invitations being handed out here at The Pirate Society - everyone’s trying to make a good impression. Already, there’s 8 pages of Offers & Requests, many of which still sit unclaimed. If you don’t walk out of there with a Demonoid invite in the first half-hour, well…go back to FST.

Other features include:

Minimum Participation? NO Although you’ll need to make one "Introduction" post to request a giveaway.
Private Tracker Reviews? Yes Currently lists 266 different tracker reviews, many are done in great detail.
‘Open Signups’ Thread? YES Yes, it’s located in the parent "BitTorrent" thread.
Credit / Points System? YES Uses a "Reputation System" and user-ranks like most other Torrent Forums.
Offers & Requests? YES Both. Members are free to post both.
Torrent Site Trading? NO No tracker trading, not ever. Same goes for swapping accounts or invites.
Invite Giveaways? YES Loads of them.
Locked Forums? YES There are two private ‘hidden’ forums for higher user-classes (Dark Pirates and Captains).

User Classes & Hidden Forums

"Tracker Giveaways" are divided into three categories. Level 1, 2 & 3. Though we haven’t had the opportunity to check out the two hidden forums, we noticed some pretty nice giveaways in the Level 1 group (such as What.cd, Waffles, & PtN recruitment). Good start!

User Classes are divided into four groups, the default being "New Recruits". Promotions work like this:

Users who are promoted to Captain will be able to view the hidden "Captain’s Private Forum", and gain access to higher-level invites (which includes trackers all the way up to Level 7). Users who make it to Dark Pirate automatically become eligible to view the "Dark Pirate’s Private Forum", and qualify for invites from any level of tracker.

Last words: In short, The Pirate Society could very well be the next big thing in private tracker communities. They’re off to a good start in such a short time, and already have some big names backing them up. With a sleek design and some great content & giveaways, we think we’ve found a winning combination.
