You’d be hard pressed to find a private tracker that doesn’t offer movies unless it’s strictly focused on some specialized genre. And movie-only trackers seem to be all the rage, lately - especially among newer top-level trackers that have abandoned the ratio system. Below is a compilation of private torrent sites that strictly offer nothing but movies (with a few notable exceptions). Some of them are non-English trackers (DVDSeed, RMVBusters) and others avoid newer scene releases by specializing in an eclectic array of material (KG, Cinemageddon).
Movie Trackers
— OPEN? - NO.Max Users: 3,000.# of Torrents: 908.Hard to Get into? - 3.5/5
Features: The Horror Charnel isn’t specifically a movies-only tracker - it offers a little bit of everything that pertains to horror (but the main staple is movies & TV). This site is so much fun, we just had to put ‘em in the review - it’s just like Halloween in there! They’ve got some nice freeleech packs (15% of the torrents are freeleech) so you’ll have no problems maintaining a good ratio. The forums are busy, too - they’ve got a ton of threads for horror movies that are hosted on public trackers as well.

Getting in / Invites: With a small limit of just 3,000 you’d think it to be impossible to get in. Not the case - it’s not a "premiere" tracker so when an invitation presents itself, it’s not exactly pounced on. While uncommon, keep your eyes peeled. The Horror Charnel also uses a "Karma System" that can be used to purchase upload GB, invites and other site treats.
MovieClub.ro - CLOSED
— OPEN? - YES (for now).Max Users: 5,000.# of Torrents: 150.Hard to Get? - 1/5
Features: The The Movie Club is a new Romanian/English movie tracker with a very sleek look. While the torrent count presently sits at a paltry 150, they’re currently busy filling it up (they’ve added 55 new movie torrents in the past two days, so expect this number to grow fast). Torrent categories include DVD-R, XviD, HD, x264 and DVD-RO (Romanian) and each one has sub-cats for movie genres.

Getting in / Invites: This may turn out to be one of those movie trackers that everyone wants into, and are later kicking themselves for not signing up when they had the opportunity. Currently the membership count is at 4,500 / 5000 - if you want in, here’s your chance, after that it’s "invite only".
— OPEN? - YES.Max Users: 15,000.# of Torrents: 1,860.Hard to Get? - 1/5
Features: We already conducted a review of TehConnection, but here’s some updated stats. Back on May 12th, they had a meager 180 torrents, but have now boosted the count to almost 1,900. Future plans include upping the usercount to 50,000 users, perhaps even as high as 100K, after which they shall institute an invite system for a potential maximum of 150,000.
Presently there’s freeleech on all torrents (and 2x upload for user-uploaded torrents). Categories: All movie formats are available (DVD5 NTSC, DVD5 PAL, DVD9, x264, HD and, of course, XviD).
Browse | Latest Stats | IMDb Info | Forums |
Getting in / Invites: They’ve recently upped the user limit from 3K to 10K, and have 8,200 members to date. Still in "beta" mode, an official ‘global’ launching is not far. At present time, the signup.php page is still up and running.
— OPEN? - YES.Max Users: 6K (+ 6.5K invites).# of Torrents: 276.Hard to Get? - 1/5
Features: Also known as RoDVD, Restricted-Zone is a new Romanian/English tracker with mostly DVD-R movie releases (although they’ve recently added an XviD section). At the time of this review, the Forum link didn’t work. There’s nothing out of the ordinary here for Rules, FAQ, User Classes - same as every other generic site. At present, half of the torrents are freeleech (as represented by a circle with a green "F" next to it), and anyone is able to upload new torrents.
Browse | Stats |
Getting in / Invites: Restricted-Zone is very close to going ‘invite only’ - the user count sits at 5,674.
— OPEN? - NO.Max Users: 20K ?.# of Torrents: 41,438.Hard to Get? - 2.5/5
Features: Primarily a movie tracker, Karagarga caters to an ecclectic crowd by offering arthouse, foreign, rare and non-mainstream films. Looking for the latest release of "Incredible Hulk"? - You’ll not find it here. However, true film buffs will appreciate this niche tracker. KG is one of the most interesting BitTorrent sites I’ve ever come across, and operates like no other:
- — Users are encouraged to leave comments in the individual torrents (feedback, thanks etc.), and most releases contain additional info (ripping data, still images from movie, poster art).
- — To expedite like-minded torrents that pertain to a particular genre or era, KG incorporates a "Master of the Month" (MoM) scheme whereby members are urged to contribute (and download) related material to the chosen MoM, and are rewarded handsomely in bonuses.
- — Seeding at KG may present a challenge - since there’s no mainstream content, it’s difficult to tell what’s "hot". Accordingly, most torrents contain just a handful of seeds, with even fewer leechers. Longterm seeding is encouraged through bonuses awarded for addtional seed-time once a torrent is complete.
Browse | Stats | Torrent Details | MoM |
Getting in / Invites: We couldn’t find the actual "Max User" stats, so we’re unsure what the hard cap is, but the current user count sits at 17,300. We do know that KG has been ‘invite only’ for a long while now, although finding an invite is not all that difficult. Invites are awarded to PU members who’ve uploaded more than 50GB, been on the tracker for at least 12 weeks and have a ratio over 1.05.
— OPEN? - YES.Max Users: 10,000.# of Torrents: 1,432 (total).Hard to Get? - 1/5
Features: The DVD Club is exactly that - a tracker that offers only DVDs (no *.avi, no DVDRips, no XviDs) - although this doesn’t just pertain to movies, as there’s a large collection of TV series’ on DVD as well. Ratio building shouldn’t be a problem - there’s 362 freeleech torrents (although you’ll need to seed to 0.7 or 72 hours minimum on them). We like the fact that there’s over 200 DVD9 torrents (mostly in NTSC format). Here’s a sneak peak at some of the notable freeleech torrents:
- - Seinfeld.AllSeasons.SE.NTSC.DVDR — 141.77 GB
- - Blade.Runner.Five-Disc.Ultimate.Collector’s.Edition.1982.WS.DVD9.NTSC — 36.3 GB
- - Alien.Quadrilogy.2003.Boxset.WS.9Disc.NTSC.R1.DVDR — 67.7 GB

Getting in / Invites: We signed up to TDC on our first try - the current number of users is 5,125 out of a total allowable 10K. Go now, or go next month.
— OPEN? - YES (at time of review).Max Users: 16,000.# of Torrents: 10,800 (active).Hard to Get? - 2/5
Features: Cinemageddon is similar to Karagarga in that they both offer a diverse selection of movies - not the mainstream fodder. You won’t find the new Rambo movie, but there is some really neat (weird? corny?) stuff in here - I’m thrilled to see categories for Exploitation, Gore, & Hidden Gems - I’ve finally found those long-lost torrents for some of my favs from Russ Meyer & Shaw Brothers. Wow, what a sick tracker - if it’s unusual, it can be found at CG! Here’s Cinemageddon’s self-proclamation:
The hands of the Internets have guided you to our sorrowful little taverna of underappreciated (for reasons ironic or otherwise) cinema. If you’re one of those people who finds a re-run of "American Ninja 3" on TV and can’t turn it off, or who walks past a Chuck Norris VHS at a thrift store and is somehow compelled to buy it, then this is the place for you.
User Classes | Fan Pages | Forums | Automatic Safe |
Other Cool Stuff: CG is community-oriented, as you’ll find out. Users can create "Fan Pages" dedicated to a certain (obscure) director, actor or genre in the massive Wiki section of CG. There’s also a neat credit system which can be used to buy site ‘perks’. The forums are busy, especially the "Customs & Excise" thread - which is an important read. Why’s that? Well, because there’s some heavy restrictions on what’s allowed to be uploaded to the tracker, and what’s not allowed. Hey, didn’t you read the Chuck Norris part? The "safe list" consists of anything whatever they’ve deemed ’safe’, dontcha know? Check out the last screenshot above for a recent list of allowable/safe films.
Getting in / Invites: Cinemageddon is almost full with 15,230 members out of a possible 16K. After that, you know what happens. BTW, you’ll need a "non-Explorer" browser to activate the credits (as if you’re still using Explorer anyways!).
— OPEN? - NO.Max Users: unknown.# of Torrents: 2,034.Hard to Get? - 2/5
Features: DVDSeed is a Polish tracker for DVD releases in all categories - be warned that English is not used on the site (this includes the Forums). Speeds weren’t great on a 4-seed torrent (for our chosen downloads) but uploading was easy enough. To view the English or multisubs torrents, customize your search in the dropdown box by selecting "nie polskie", although keep in mind that almost everything is in PAL format. DVDSeed also offers a ton of DVD9 releases (we found 254 torrents) and some decent BoxSets (50). Freeleech torrents are everywhere (there’s 1,138) - and to show only the freeleech torrents, choose "darmowe" from the dropdown filter in the search.
Browse / Cats | User Classes |
Getting in / Invites: We couldn’t navigate to the site stats, so it’s unknown how many members there are or what the limit is. At the time of this post, DVDSeed was not open to public signups. However, invitations are really easy to find and handed out like Halloween candy in the tracker invite forums.
— OPEN? - NO.Max Users: 20,000.# of Torrents: 2,107.Hard to Get? - 2/5
Features: While not specifically a movie tracker, HD-Bits offers a large selection of movie torrents in HD. Keeping a good ratio shouldn’t be a problem, as there’s more than 320 freeleech torrents. To find out what’s hot, you’ll notice a nice Top Ten list on the homepage. Here’s the torrent numbers:
- - Movies - HD/x264 — 674 torrents
- - Movies - HD/x264 (Ro-subbed) — 235 torrents
- - HD TV Series — 127 torrents
- - HD Adult — 90 torrents
Browse / Cats | Stats | Top Ten List |
Getting in / Invites: It’s fairly easy to get into HD-Bits - there’s a ton of invites floating around. On my brand-new account here, I’ve received 4 invites already and I haven’t even downloaded a single torrent.
— OPEN? - YES.# of Users: 37,000.# of Torrents: 5,550 (active).Hard to Get? - 1/5
Features: If you’re into Asian movies, Anime & Pinku, then Asian DVD Club is your place! Looking for Hentai and pr0n? - you won’t find it here - ADC is a (relatively) clean tracker.
- - Anime — 1550 torrents
- - Music DVDs and OSTs — 375 torrents
- - TV Dramas — 528 torrents

Features: SweDVDr is a Nordic tracker with excellent pre-times and great speeds - an account here is desired by many; obtained by few. Most of the "DVDs" are in PAL format, and are ‘Swe-subbed’, however there are many multi-sub releases. SweDVDr employs a point-system where site goodies can be purchased (24 Hour freeleech; request slots; 10GB upload blocks). It’s a great community atmosphere here, reflected in the high number of seeders and active forums. There’s even an IMDb movie rating column in the ‘browse’ page - a nice touch!
Browse / Cats | Stats | User Classes |
Getting in / Invites: Lots of luck getting into this Level 8 tracker; SweDVDr has been a closed system for a while now. ‘Divine Users’ can use their bonus points to purchase invites, although it’s unknown if / when they can actually be given. Worse still, it’s been suggested that if you don’t have a Norse IP range, you can’t get in.
— OPEN? - YES.Max Users: 5,000.# of Torrents: 126.Hard to Get? - 1/5
Features: NordicDVDr is, as you guessed, a Norwegian tracker dedicated to DVDr releases. Most of the stuff is in PAL format and Nordic-subbed, although there’s also plenty of multi-subbed DVDs. There’s a neat side feature for betting - users can wager bonus points on upcoming football matches. They’ve recently converted the Forums over to English as the default language.
Browse / Cats | Stats | Betting |
Getting in / Invites: Open to new registrations - currently there’s some 3,400 people registered on the tracker, which leaves ~1,600 open slots.
— OPEN? - NO.Max Users: 2,000.# of Torrents: +700.Hard to Get? - 4.5/5
Features: As with most top level sites, any mentioning of the URL or full name is forbidden. Opening back in late March ‘08, PtN is a very small (and private) tight-knit community for movie torrents. Originally this tracker only catered to XviD releases, but has started to let in DVDr and HD torrents, as well. There’s no ratio system on PtN, and all users are encouraged to upload & fill requests. Other PtN features:
- — In lieu of the ratio system, users must seed back what you download to at least a 1:1 ratio or at least try to, if it’s impossible for you to seed to 1:1, then you must seed for at least 72 hours within 7 days of completing the torrent. (in other words, get a seedbox!)
- — PtN has a great bonus system, and bonus points can be traded in for just about anything (including invites, GB upload, VIP status, ratio fix, warning removal).
- — PtN forums are extremely busy, and adding user comments for individual torrents is highly encouraged.
- — Pre-times are great, plus there’s a ton of ‘packs’ up for grabs. Torrents are mixed between new scene releases and user uploaded (older) releases & packs.

Getting in / Invites: You’ll need your "A" game to get into this tracker. While invites are common (plus they’re actively recruiting new valued members), you’ll need to prove yourself if you want to join.

Features: RMVBusters is a tracker that caters to RMVB (compressed) movies. As you can see below, the site is almost entirely Polish language only. Most of the movies are PL-subbed, but some are English (native).
User Classes | Torrents | Forums |
Getting in / Invites: Presently the site is not open for public signups but invites are relatively easy to find. Check back at the site often, as accounts are often pruned to make more space.
— OPEN? - NO.Max Users: 4,350.# of Torrents: ~2,000.Hard to Get? - 3/5
Features: x264.eu is a great tracker for movies in the *264 container format, although they also have categories for XviD, DVD-R, HD and iPod movie releases. In the torrent ‘browse’ table, there’s a great feature for the IMDb.com rating for each movie. There’s a great selection of freeleech torrents, found by clicking the ‘Free’ link in the top of the torrent list, and genres of movie are listed under each torrent. They have a great bonus points system in which 0.5 points are awarded for each hour a torrent(s) is seeding, that can be traded back for upload GB or Top Ten privileges. The x264 Forums are a happening place, and there’s some great guides for HD/x264 ripping in the tutorials section.
To quote them, "This is non 0-day tracker. If you want the quickest releases, you’re in the wrong place. We specialise in high quality movies, in particular those encoded in the x264 codec."

Getting in / Invites: x264 has an active invite system for its users, and are awarded to qualifying members often. Despite the small max. user count, invites aren’t too difficult to find.

Features: GOEM, or "Garden of Eden Movies" is a movie tracker that has a ton of old, obscure and independent movies as well as all the latest scene releases. They only allow retail DVDrips or HDTVrips (no TS, CAMs, or screeners allowed). This tracker has a very tight community and as such their users upload a ton of content that you would never find anywhere else. Other Goem features include:
- — There’s a great "Movies of the Week" feature - all freeleech.
- — Goem has something called the gMBD or the Goem movie database, where they list all the movies on the tracker for a quick look up of the rating.
- — The tracker is similar to What & Waffles in that Goem encourages users to upload torrents, and there’s a sophistated format/system for upping (multiple formats for the same film are allowed).

Features: Cinematik says, "Our mission is to provide cinephiles of classic, independent, rare and outlandish films a friendly location to discuss and share their own interests with current members of this ever-growing community."
Most of the releases are in DVD-R format, but there’s not a great selection for newer stuff (but you can find that stuff everywhere else, anyways) - Cinematik is comparable to Karagarga in the fact that they offer a great collection of eclectic and hard-to-find films. Other notables:
- — There’s a great "Movies of the Week" feature - all of which are freeleech.
- — The forums are very active - there’s threads for collectors, film discussions, MOTW, and lots of tutorials.
- — Cinematik strongly encourages users to upload new torrents and be involved in the community.

Features: Secret-Cinema is a great tracker for hard-to-find films (Arthouse, Cult, TV Movies). The S-C forum is an amazing place for all sorts of film discussion including a very popular thread for "Tech Tips & Help" and "Requests & Offers". SC is not strictly a movie tracker, as there’s a variety of TV torrents, books and documentaries.

Getting in / Invites: Presently, not open for public signups, and invites aren’t exactly easy to come by. If you’re a Power User (or up) at What.cd, check the Invites forum for a Secret-Cinema recruitment thread here.
— OPEN? - YES.# of Users: stats unknown.# of Torrents: 163.Hard to Get? - 1/5
Features: Don’t be fooled by the low torrent count of 163 - Ro DVD Klub is a sleek new DVD site to contend with the rest. When a tracker begins by offering some huge freeleech Packs, it’s a sure sign that they’ve started off on the right foot towards greatness. Keep your eye on RoDVD - it may just turn out to be that tracker you wished you signed up for when you had the chance.
Other Notable Movie Trackers
— OPEN? - YES.# of Users: ??.# of Torrents: ~ 3,000.Hard to Get? - 1/5
Features: While not specifically a movie tracker, Avi-Torrents offers mostly movies. They use public trackers, so be warned that speeds will be lacking. Also, you’ll need to click a lame "thanks" button before downloading any torrents (this is a first for me - I’ve not seen a semi-private tracker that makes it’s users ‘thank’ for a public torrrent). Avoid this site, unless you really can’t find something elsewhere.
— OPEN? - YES.# of Users: ??.# of Torrents: ~ 350.Hard to Get? - 1/5
Features: This is another semi-private site that uses public torrents, so speeds will suffer. It’s more of a torrent aggregator than anything else. I don’t think the site is maintained, as they’ve only added a whopping 7 new torrents in the past 30 days, and the forums are completely vacant of life. However, there is a cool feature for browsing the Top 250 movies of all time, in which they have 140 torrents listed.
