If you’ve ever used a seedbox with TorrentFlux, you may have been a little overwhelmed by all of the options, let alone the TFlux interface. So if you’re looking to get into the seedbox world, but want to keep all the functionality of your trustworthy µTorrent client, you may be better served by using a provider that offers the µTorrent WebUI interface. It’s almost identical to µTorrent in every way - what could be easier?

But perhaps the best reason to lean towards a seedbox with WebUI is the speed advantage over TorrentFlux. Since WebUI doesn’t use as many server-hungry resources (such as PHP and MySQL), this saves additional memory for the seedbox, which translates directly to faster up/download transfers and more active torrents. Linux users who run a BT client through a command line already know this fact: — less GUI = higher speeds.

We tested out a few different seedbox hosting providers that offer µTorrent WebUI as an alternative to TorrentFlux, and we found the speeds to be superior to that of TFlux. Below are four different WebUI providers running four different torrents:

With further ado, here’s a list of µTorrent WebUI seedbox providers:

MyBOX.PFCorner.eu

Nevermind PFCorner’s no-frills website - don’t let this distract you from their great offers and excellent speeds. We frequently hit the 8 to 9 MB/s download rate for our torrents, and 700MB DVDRiP movies are downloaded in as little as 90 seconds. During business hours, new seedbox accounts are set up in less than an hour. Of all the WebUI providers, PFCorner offers the most variety in terms of service packages, and special ‘customized’ plans are always welcome. They’re also the only one of the bunch that offers a service they dub the "Big Pile" - it’s a free service (on the ‘Fixed’ packages) where large torrents can be held (seeding) and won’t cut into your drive space limitations. (This is very handy for trackers that offer a ’seed bonus’ based on time a torrent is left seeding - essentially you’ll be able to seed for free, while building up tracker bonus points & upload GBs). Neat idea!

Our Recommendations: Opt for an Unmetered Package, starting at €15 (Euro) a month. The monthly bandwidth throughput on these plans is unlimited, and you’ll be able to run a whopping 200 torrents simultaneously! Let’s see you try that on TorrentFlux.

Want to try it first to check out their insane speeds? Order the smallest package (10 GB drive space/50 GB upload bandwidth) for only €5. Email sb-admin[AT]pfcorner[DOT]nl for questions, suggestions and orders.

GetByte2U.com

GetByte2U offers a variety of µTorrent WebUI packages, in both "Downloader" and "Seeder" plans. Other features include: HTTP & FTP downloading, DHT and private tracker support, available protocol encryption, and more.

Our Recommendations: Read the options for each account when subscribing - there are limitations on the allowable max. active torrents and for up/down speeds on all accounts. However, all accounts offer an unlimited monthly transfer (bandwidth). While we wouldn’t recommend GetByte for heavy BitTorrent users, prices start at a mere $15/month, and they offer a very affordable seedbox solution to otherwise ’strategic’ BitTorrent users.

If you prefer to try them out first before you decide to subscribe to a larger package, select the µTor-D "Plan G" for $6 - you’ll get a seedbox for 7 days and 8GB drive space. (We couldn’t find this option in the ‘check out’, but try contacting GetByte2U at support@getbyte2u.com and request a trial run).

SeedboxWorld.net

SeedboxWorld is new to the WebUI scene, but has offered hosting for over 5 years. Their WebUI platforms run on fully-loaded quad core processor systems giving you maximum speeds and hardware based virtualization (xen) for maximum stability, with µTorrent pre-installed. They have full remote desktop and Administrator rights and a dedicated IP. Seeboxworld currently offers many different WebUI packages to choose from (as well as TorrentFlux-b4rt boxes), starting at just £10 (GBP).

Our Recommendations: We were lucky enough to test-drive their "µTorrent-Small" package, which includes 25 GB of HD space with unlimited torrents and unmetered bandwidth on a 100 Mbit port - all for £19. Speeds were great, especially for seeding - we ‘averaged’ around 900 KB/s upload for a single torrent from TorrentLeech, many times the burst speeds exceeded 1.3 Mb/s.

JMH Services

Update: - JMHServices is offline

Although you won’t find any mention of WebUI seedboxes on their website, JMH does offer a µTorrent option on their ‘Single User’ plan. Unlike most other WebUI seedbox providers, you’ll get full VNC access so you can use a browser and manage the seedbox, as well as FTP and WebUI access. As with all of their seedbox products, users get a 100 Mbit Tier 1 connection. You’ll also get a customized how-to guide for your new seedbox.

Here’s a look at JMH’s seedbox in action. As expected with JMH Services, the speeds are consistently fast:

Santrex

Santrex offers 4 different µTorrent hosting plans (all of which are unmetered), starting at $29. To quote Santrex, "You can get upto 11MB/sec on all our servers!" on their dedicated 100 Mbit connections.

Santrex also offers dedicated servers, as well - please note that torrents are not allowed on their U.S. hosted servers, although you’ll have no problem running TorrentFlux, WebUI or anything else on their "offshore" France and Amsterdam locations.

LeaseTorrent.com

Aside from their super-affordable TorrentFlux plans, LeaseTorrent also offers WebUI packages, as well. Starting at £15 (GBP), you’ll get a barebones seedbox with 10 GB drive space and 200 GB monthly bandwidth. Plans are very versatile, and can be upgraded during the month, as needed.

Our Recommendations: Without an "unlimited" bandwidth package option, you could end up paying a lot if you’re a heavy BitTorrent user. It’s not difficult to burn out your entire 200 GB monthly allotment in a single week, if not faster.

EliteSeedbox.com

EliteSeedbox also offers a diverse selection of WebUI seedboxes. The options are a little confusing at first, until you click on the "Hard Drive Space" link next to a package - this will open up more options (including ‘unlimited bandwidth’) for each selection. Not cheap, we might add - plans start at €26.35 (Euros) and range up to a very lofty €230/mo. Yeah, right! For half that price you can find a cheap dedibox.
