New to BitTorrent? Try TheTorrentswing.com

July 11, 2008 by sharky

TheTorrentswing is a new site dedicated to helping people who are new to torrents. Their motto is - Your Push into the Torrent World. It is more of an "ask-for and give-advice" community, rather than a tracker invite forum. It’s set up so that people new to BitTorrent can ask questions without feeling embarrassed or receiving sarcastic remarks like they would at some other places. No one will judge them by their questions. On top of that, if you can’t get a answer in the forums, we have the usergroups and profiles set up so that it shows what each user is experienced in. Here is a hypothetical scenario:

"Johnny Joins TheTorrentSwing. He has a question about how to set up a seedbox. He goes to the list of "Torrent Advisers". In each Torrent Adviser’s profile it shows the areas that he has experience in. Once the user sees that, he pm’s the torrent adviser and gets direct, one-on-one support."

It’s set up that people must apply for "Torrent Adviser" Status and that they have enough time to help. There is a section called "Member Advice" where members can give their own advice to the newer torrenters. All topics are approved before made public in that section.

There is also another section where the important, must know, information is. This is for those who just want everything broken down instead of browsing various guides.

For the Advice and tutorials, we try to provide a Short Guide and Long Guide for each subject. This is to prevent members from being overwhelmed if they see a big long guide.

Feel free to get even more help from their in-browser IRC chat:
